About us
Our Mission
We desire that every man, woman, and child would have repeat opportunities to have the Gospel declared and demonstrated to them.
Our Relationship with the Father
Our primary responsibility is our relationship with and submission to The Creator
Our Relationship with the Church
We are called to love and serve alongside all our brothers and sisters.
Our Relationship with the world
The church is the hope of the world. God calls us to point them to him.
Founded in 1938, Main Street Baptist Church was originally Second Baptist Church, but often called Tabernacle Baptist Church because of its original building where they met. The wood frame building with savings for a floor and wood shutters was located off East Gay Street and had only two small prayer rooms. With only a water faucet, a nearby service station and neighbors’ homes were used for restrooms and baptisms were conducted in nearby lakes and in Kissingen Springs. In 1947 Main Street Baptist moved to its current location and change its name. On November 11, 1947, just a few hours before the dedication of the new building, a fire of undetermined origin destroyed the old wood frame tabernacle of Second Baptist Church. The education building was constructed in 1952 and in 1987 the multi-purpose building, now known as the fellowship hall, was constructed. On Sunday, March 13, 2022, an arson fire destroyed the 1947 sanctuary and all its contents. That day’s services were held in the gym at First Baptist Church in Bartow, but the following Sunday, the congregation had repurposed the fellowship hall as the temporary sanctuary and immediately began the process of building a new worship center.
